Janice Alford
Behavioral Health Specialist
Janice is a dedicated Certified Grief Counselor with over 9 years of experience at Agape Care Group, where she organizes the monthly "With You" call, a support initiative created during COVID-19 for employees and their families. With a 20-year history as a personal assistant to Pastor Kippie C. Brown at Maxwell Baptist Church in Florence, SC, she also contributes as a musician and grief counselor in the church's Grief Ministry.
In 2017, she founded iCare Counseling, LLC, partnering with churches to offer grief counseling and education. Janice's professional background includes roles in Mass Communication as a News Reporter and 14 years as an educator in Music and Drama, where she enhanced literacy in rural school districts.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and an Associate in Fine Arts from North Greenville University, where she broke barriers as the first African American woman in her drama team. Janice earned dual Master’s degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Center, graduating Cum Laude, and has received various accolades, including the Langston Hughes Music Award.
Currently, she serves as a grief counselor consultant and facilitator for non-profits in New York and South Carolina, an Alumni Board Member for North Greenville University, and a member of the gospel recording group, Larry McCullough and Chosen Generation. Janice is guided by her motto: "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain." She cherishes her family, including her parents, brother, sister, and two nephews.
